Aperam Alloys Rescal
Global leader in high-performance resistance alloys.
The origins of Aperam Alloys Rescal are rooted in over 120 years of metallurgical expertise in the Imphy region of France. Accelerating its growth following the establishment of the Aperam group as an independent entity in 2011, the company operates as a core component of the "Alloys & Specialties" division. For over 30 years, its facility in Epône, France, has specialized globally in the drawing of electrical resistance alloy wires and the flattening of thermocouple ribbons.
Patented Yttrium (Y) Technology for Extended Lifecycle
The inclusion of Yttrium in the RESISTOHM Y alloy prevents grain growth and structural embrittlement when exposed to extreme temperatures. This directly extends the operational life of the resistance wires and minimizes after-sales maintenance costs.
Advanced R&D-Backed Manufacturing
Supported by the intellectual resources of the Pierre Chevenard Research Centre (CPRPC) in France, Rescal provides rigorously tested and optimized engineering solutions rather than just standard raw materials.
Comprehensive Quality and Safety Certifications
Rescal ensures complete regulatory compliance with major international standards. The facilities hold continuous certifications for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001, alongside critical sectoral accreditations such as IATF 16949 (automotive) and PED 2014/68/EU (pressure vessels).
Commitment to Sustainability and Circular Economy
Aperam prioritizes sustainable manufacturing by utilizing recycled alloy scrap and low-carbon energy. As a holder of the ResponsibleSteel™ certification in the European steel sector, the company actively assists its B2B partners in reducing their supply chain carbon footprint.
The company focuses on manufacturing durable thermal and electrical solutions for industries that demand reliable performance under high temperatures and rigorous operational conditions. Key sectors served include heavy industrial heating systems, industrial furnaces, domestic appliances, HVAC architectures, and health/wellbeing devices (such as sauna heaters and medical heating pads).
The precision alloy wires and ribbons engineered at the Epône facility are tailored to meet the specific electrical resistance and spatial requirements of industrial applications. Through our distribution, you can access the following primary resistance wire series:
-
Nickel-Chromium (NiCr) Series: Designed for environments subjected to frequent thermal cycling. This includes RESISTOHM® 80, which offers high oxidation resistance and mechanical stability up to 1200°C, and RESISTOHM® 40, known for its rapid heating capacity. They maintain strict dimensional integrity in continuous-operation setups.
-
Iron-Chromium-Aluminum (FeCrAl) Series: Ferritic alloys capable of enduring extreme temperatures like 1300°C. Grades such as RESISTOHM® Y and RESISTOHM® 135 deliver sustained performance, longevity, and excellent creep resistance in demanding furnace and heating architectures.
-
Copper-Nickel (CuNi) Series: Characterized by a very low temperature coefficient. They allow for rapid and stable temperature adjustments without energy dissipation, making them highly suitable for applications requiring precise thermal control, such as underfloor heating systems
