Steatite Insulating Beads

C221 special steatite ceramic insulation beads (fish spine beads), manufactured by Rauschert, offer reliable performance in industrial heating systems and the insulation of studs. Thanks to their individual and interlocking (concave-convex) structure, they provide high flexibility, ensuring continuous electrical insulation even on curved lines. Material: Rauschert C221 Special Steatite Operating Temperature: 1000°C

Manufactured specifically for industrial heating and power transmission lines, steatite insulation beads are made from C221 Special Steatite material by Rauschert. Densified by firing at temperatures around 1300°C during the production process, these ceramic insulators prevent moisture absorption with a 0.0% open porosity rate and maintain their structural integrity. Compared to standard steatites, the addition of barium carbonate significantly increases the mechanical strength of the material.

Suitable for systems reaching operating temperatures of 1000°C, this product is used particularly for insulating industrial studs and protecting bare conductors. Its individual design, with one concave end and one convex end, allows the beads to interlock. This provides high flexibility by taking the shape of the wire on moving or curved surfaces, eliminating the risk of short circuits.

Applications and Advantages:

  • Insulation of studs and protection of bare electrical conductors (resistance wires, thermocouple cables).

  • Flexible insulation in vacuum systems, high-temperature furnaces, and coaxial cabling.

  • Continuous insulation in conductive lines requiring movement or having complex bending angles.

  • High resistance to creep and wear.
