High-tech Silicon Carbide (SiC) or commonly known in the industry as "Starbar" heating elements are designed to operate at extreme temperatures like 1625°C (3000°F), surpassing the limits of standard metallic alloys. Custom manufactured (made-to-order) completely according to your furnace design and heat treatment needs at I Squared Element's facilities in the USA, these semiconductor elements exhibit unique performance in glass melting, advanced ceramic sintering, powder metallurgy, and laboratory furnaces. Thanks to their high-density microstructures, they offer excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance, ensuring a long operating life even in the most demanding atmospheric conditions inside the furnace.

The biggest advantage of this product group is that it has a wide variety of production forms capable of responding to all design constraints of industrial furnaces. The spiral-cut Type SER and Type SE series, where the electrical connection is made from a single end, provide engineers with great space-saving and wiring convenience in restricted mounting areas (blind holes). While the classic Type RR models in straight rod form are preferred in standard applications requiring high mechanical strength; the heat distribution inside your furnace is controlled with millimetric precision through custom designs having U-Type, W-Type, or multiple hot zone lengths.
